Loren

Loren is the mother of Tobias. She was married to the Andalite Elfangor, under the alias of Alan Fangor, who she met when she was abducted by the Skrit Na. Although she was initially simply to be taken back to Earth and her memory erased, the discovery of the Time Matrix resulted in her return being delayed, allowing her and Elfangor to develop a deeper, closer bond, to the extent that Elfangor left the war after having his faith shattered to live on Earth with her. Elfangor was eventually returned to the war by the Ellimist, apparently erasing Loren's memory of her life with him while leaving the newly-conceived Tobias still in existence. The full details of her fate in the intervening time are unknown, but it is established that she suffered from amnesia at some point as the result of an accident that left her blind. Although she does not remember Tobias or Elfangor, when the Animorphs discover her they give her the ability to morph, Loren subsequently acquiring Tobias's hawk body and regaining her sight.
