Seerow was an Andalite Prince who is notorious in Andalite culture as the Andalite who gave the Yeerks advanced technology, which they used to start conquering the galaxy. He was the reason creation of the Law of Seerow's Kindness.[1] He is the father of Aldrea-Iskillion-Falan and Barafin.
Prince Seerow led the very first Andalite expedition to the Yeerk homeworld. He pitied the Yeerks, who were highly intelligent, but very limited by their hosts and their need for Kandrona Rays. Seerow gave the Yeerks access to Andalite technology, founded the Andalite-Yeerk Peace and Cooperation Center, and taught the Yeerks writing and astronomy.
For a brief time, the Yeerks and Andalites lived harmoniously together. This peace was broken when a group of Yeerks rebelled, attacked the Andalite-Yeerk Peace and Cooperation Center, killed several Andalites and stole a few Andalite ships.
Seerow was blamed for the incident, dishonored, and stationed with his family on a primitive planet the Andalites deemed unimportant, the Hork-Bajir Homeworld.[2]
Seerow, his wife, and Barafin were all killed by the Shredder fire on the Hork-Bajir Homeworld before the Yeerks were trying to take it over.[3]
Trivia
Edit
- Seerow apparently has a good reputation among some Yeerks; Aftran 942 acknowledges him as '"the one good Andalite"'.[4]
- Seerow is the namesake for the law of Seerow's Kindness and Seerow Hamee.
- A plot error occurs in The Prophecy. In The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, Seerow died from Shredder fire from an stolen Andalite Fighter piloted by Yeerks. However in The Prophecy, it's said he died from Dracon Beam fire coming from a Yeerk Bug Fighter. This is truly odd, since in The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, the Yeerks hadn't even begun building Bug Fighters until after at least a number of months on Sector 5, RG-21578-4.
